What made you like Submachine? -And what is your favourite?

(Trying to keep things going on here in the forum haha)

I like the mystery environment, the sensation of being completely alone in there. The Egyptian and Inca/Maya references are also very dear to me, and the many possibilities of exploration. But mostly, the environment it's completely unique.

At first, I used to play the game for that because I wasn't fluent in English and couldn't understand the whole context and read the letters properly hahaha So when I got back years later and started playing it all again, but this time understanding It, It was like discovering a new game, and sub got EVEN better (but way different from what I imagined).

Btw, my fav is LFL, but from the main series, definitely the lab.

I discovered Submachine when I was 12 or 13 years old, the first game I played was The Basement (but I think there was up to Sub_5 released). I don't know why but the colors of The Basement went deep inside me bringing me sensations of mystery and solitude I got so much pleasure from. By that time, I spent some winter evening at a hospital (my grandpa was there) and, looking through the window, I saw that the building in front was a very creepy and dark cube with some lights on, and I saw that the rooms I could see had the same orange like color than The Basement. Those images penetrated me so much that I continued playing the games and fell absolutely in love with Submachine. There was another building me and my father passed by with the car when we went to pick my mum out of her job in the night, also squared, very small windows, that I was sure in my fantasies was part of the Submachine, or an entrance to it. Now I am 23 so more than 10 years have passed, but I love looking at buildings (abandoned or not) and I imagine that they belong somehow to Submachine. When you discover and love Submachine, that's something that you will carry with you your whole life, and it is beautiful, don't you think? As the suicide note says "When I look around I see submachine".

My favorite is Sub_5, the whole Root looks like the basement of my grandparent's house in an old small village in Spain (where I am from), all with red - orange bricks, tools and antique furniture and devices. And look at the ceiling of that house, it is absolutely the ceiling of the upper levels of Sub_4!!

And... I am an engineer and when I am working at some laboratory, I find sooooo much joy telling my mates, or hearing from them "See you at the lab" as Murtaugh says at the end of Sub_3 :D

I totally understand you! It's impressive that this game, quite different from other games, comes to real life... I love buildings and factories too, and I take pictures of them all the time! haha your grandpa's basement does remember the root.

One of my favourites locations it's the view I have from my house's last floor.

Doesn't it remember the rooftop of the lab? I'M CRAZY to get into that house :P

And as I always loved the industrial/Steampunk aesthetics, I can say that my grandpa's workshop it's a paradise of cool machines, weird tools and gears that could be in submachine scenarios too! haha
