When replaying Sub 10, this time the downloaded Version, I noticed one more Detail. Somehow every time you play one of the games, you realize something new. On the Wiki page S.H.I.V.A.- section there is mentioned under Region "unknown". But when Shiva is activated and you get the message of "no Access" you can read (@ Sh.root.ping )
And that is the same message you have at Sub 4 when you have no Keyboard you just send @ lab, some ip address.ping.
So my guess is, that access point is at the root, however that does not make sence from the look of that location. On the other Hand, the root certainly is physically close to the core, you see that in many ways, but seperated somehow different after the Expansion started. My guess is that Region is the root. At least it is mentioned at this message. The deactivation corridor is at the Edge, so either there is another part of Shiva at the root to emit this answer or this region is the root, although it does not look that way. I don`t want to edit the Wiki though, since I`m not sure and second I`m not someone who directly edits. That`s why I prefer to post it here and others can decide if that could be right
As on a side note, to me it could make sence that Shiva was built at the root ( before Singularity), since I think mainframe and Shiva are not the same. When reading the notes in Sub 10 , and especially that you can simply shut down Shiva from the Edge, makes it look to me more like a part that was added later to the submachine, probably built by humans. When Shiva reached singularity mainframe became sentient, and Shiva acts as its brain, but it could well be that Shiva is just the intelligent, concious thinking part, while mainframe is more the subconciousness, the part of the brain, that does not the "rational thinking". But it still controls Shiva, same as with us, the last word on our decissions always has our feeling and guts. And many decissions are made that our "brain" does not know or control. Best to be seen by the note "---- how a nonliving, sentient being, powered by the superintelligence of Shiva, was able to embrace all layers at once.."
Hi, it`s me again the Player "2003". I have another question. I read that Mateusz is working on a big game, that`s cool.
But there is also the engine that might come as a game once a certain ammount of paetron founders are there and probably after the big game.
Now paetron is again something where you give a bit but constantly, I have a better overview over what I do when being able to donate a certain sum every now and then but not through patreon. My question is now the engine will only happen when the funding through paetron is there, or can it also be achieved by other means, like single donations of more Money then 1 Dollar/ month via paetron?
I think the Engine and the Explorers, but mainly the engine, about the machines themselves, would be a cool stand alone complementary game for the submachine series.
I`m totally new to wiki, but I have an idea for a theory, however I have no idea if my thoughts are valid for a theory. I read other theories in Submachine Universe, how they are formated and I think my thought could fit as one, but I`m not sure. So on the thoeries pages I read that one can always ask an admin for help and that`s why I`m here.
Can I send my idea to an admin and someone reads through it, if it could fit as a theory? Not regarding the category , that has to be seen, just if it fits a theory?
Hi, thanks for reaching out. First of all I should say that there are plans in place to gradually take all theory pages off the Submachine Wiki over the next year or so, except for the theories that appear in Submachine Universe. They will be moved over to an online forum at http://pastelland.com/forum which has been the main fan forum for Mateusz Skutnik's work since 2005.
However in the meantime you can post your thoughts in this thread if you want, or you can create a new page titled something like "2003's theories" (or replace 2003 with another username; I just took that from your IP) and list your thoughts there. Or you can sign up at the link above and post a new thread in the "theories and suggestions" board.
Either option is fine; since theories are going to be moved in the next year or so I'm fine with you just collecting your thoughts in a less-than-formal format wherever you want. Let me know if you have other questions.
Thx for that answer. If it is ok, I post it here a bit less formal. If it fits its ok if not its also ok :-)
When I`m fascianted with something, I start speculating around and yeah :-)
And I have a question: in the infestation map, we see one single submachine extremly far at the rim of the rim ( lower left of the map). Do you know by chance if we have visited that location in submachine universe? There are a few Locations that could fit it like f.e. the laser.
My theory or thoughts. Pick voidchaos instead of 2003 :-)
Basically we know that with the first man made submachine, along with Mur`s Portals and some odd phenonemon the submachines grew uncontrollably and became chaotic and autonomous. They evolved and they were a danger for the core. They also were unmappable and therefore deserted by the humans. The defense System makes sence, Shiva Needs to protect the core, the original submachine.
But, the submachines at the outer rim are innocent. Yes they are chaos, the grow uncontrollably, they endanger the core, but they did not ask for that ( as far as we know a destructive sentient will was not stated regarding the outer rim). They did not deliberatly do that. It`s their nature and they just follow their natural entropy. Like them or not they are legit. They Are.
So far the submachines, the body are not really concious, Shiva acts as its brain, but still there is, imo, a wague Feeling if being treated right or wrong , bascially a karmic imprint of what you do and where you walk is left behind.
And the same counts for the outer rim submachines imo. Not really aware they still somehow perceive that they are rejected, deserted, attacked.
There actually is a hint in the game: "the humans deserted the outer rim and the outer rim responded with deserting them"
What if , afterall they evolve, some part of one of them, f.e. a reactor or engine or generator gets sentient of a sorts? Not exactly like Shiva, but a bit more then just a wague awareness. What if at one point the following Quote takes place:
The core shot the outer rim, and the outer rim fought back.
It could be prevented if Shiva would use another method. Bring respect, acceptance to the outer rim submachine, but still make sure that they cannot destroy the core. Like if you have an infected sibling. You Keep your distance but you phone, you mail and communicate otherwise. If there would be a subcouncious acceptance maybe order and chaos could coexist without the need of turrets :-)
Just a thought.
And I`m also curious why the rapid expansion slowed down a bit:
did the Void slow down the process?
does the outer rim feel that they are reaching a border that is unsafe( maybe even Expansion to Alien border)
or does the outer rim notice that to have stable and functioning machines you need to work slower and maintain more.
All images on (at least) the English Wiki should have that copyright note. It's put there as a safe measure so that the images don't get taken down by Wikia staff. Mateusz has given permission for us to use screenshots from the games.
The rule for using images for the Wiki is that regular images (300px) are okay, as long as they're not in HD resolution (650px). It would technically be possible to upload screens in HD resolution, but the English Wiki doesn't have any in order to make everything a uniform size. Uploading full HD maps of locations anywhere is strictly forbidden.
So tl;dr feel free to use any images on the English Wiki; just make sure you have the same copyright tag just to be safe.
You can upload the map in this thread if you want, or I'd probably say put it on your profile page or in Talk:Submachine Universe.
Right now the admins and a few other members are discussing the state of walkthrough pages on the Wiki and other things like SubVerse maps, as obviously SubVerse maps aren't like regular location maps. There's no real "official" way to map out clues and such, so it's a sort of gray area concerning what pages they should be on. But I'd definitely love to check it out so I'd say post it in one of those spots for the time being.
Hi Jatsko, for starters, I love all the artwork you've created in the past for the Wiki. (I might have said this to you earlier this year...) ANYWAY, the issue at hand is that I have a few relevant things to add to the Submachine 32 Chambers page, and I am instantly getting the popup message:
NOTE: This page has been protected so that only established, registered users can edit it.
Why is this? I have been a registered member since Jan/2013...(two months shy of 5 years) and although I have not made tens of thousands of edits like you, I definitely do know how to edit properly without issue. Today, I saw that the page for Sub32 has a few things that could be included on it, I was/am in the mood to do a little work on our Wiki as I am way overdue in contributing, and now I'm kinda feeling like an outsider when I have always felt at home on this Submachine Wiki. Plus, I know that you guys scan over everything that members add or change anyway, so why does this page need to be "protected" from the rest of us? I am not angry, by any means; so please don't take this as a nasty message to you... I am just saddened and disappointed that this occurs on an older game/wiki-page such as this one. (I could understand if maybe it was for an upcoming game and you didn't want any misinformation posted, but...Sub32?) As for me, I play or create something Submachine daily...since 2007-ish. (And someone like you knows that I am NOT exaggerating with this comment. haha) My point is, I DO know my Submachine stuff, so I am left wondering...what exactly MAKES a member be considered "established"? Thanks for any help Jatsko, and KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

Hi SD, is this message popping up as soon as you click "Edit" for the page? Because it happens for me as well. Did you actually try publishing your edits?
All of the game pages have protections on them since they are considered more important enough that they should be protected from anyone who's not logged in and wants to make spam edits. However the level of protection is low enough that as long as you're signed into an account, you should have no problem editing the pages. Either way, the note will pop up when you go to edit BUT that doesn't necessarily mean you're blocked from editing. Try making your edits and publishing them, and if they don't go through, make sure to let me know because then there's a deeper issue.
Rest assured that no one has taken any action against you specifically in this case to make sure you can't edit. These protections were actually put in place back in 2011 by admins around way before I was.
Incredible! Last night after I clicked the “X” in the corner of the initial “Editing Pop-Up”, making it vanish…none of the editing buttons were lit up. (ie the B for bold, “I” for italics, insert an image, insert bullets, etc.) This happened repeatedly so I came to the conclusion that I wasn’t able or allowed to edit. And yes, I had initially typed in a few words just to see if that triggered anything…aaand nope! I attempted to edit at LEAST 6 times, closing out Firefox a couple of times, too. I’m just like anybody else, I tried all kinds of stuff before resorting to contacting “Tech Support”.…in this case, that would be you. haha Anyway, all that being said, the problem I was having is completely nonexistent now! Editing capabilities are now clearly active for me for Sub32, and I assume all other game pages will behave the same for me now as well. OH! By the way, if it’s worth anything, after stomping my feet at the editing thing and writing you, I noticed that my Profile page was full of cobwebs. I composed my new text in MS Word as always, and about an hour later I pasted the new text right into my profile… I updated my avatar as well. Then it hit me: “I just edited something!” So, I went back to Sub32…and sadly, as was the case earlier, none of the editing buttons would light up for me on that page. I then just called it a night. NOW, today, everything is behaving as it should on my end. Editing buttons are all lit up for me on Sub32’s page now. I don’t know WHAT could have possibly been going on last night. (BTW, I leave my computer on 24/7/365, so I didn’t “reboot”, resulting in things being put back in order or anything.) I should mention that I seriously don’t recall ever getting the Editing Pop-Up message in years past, and I’ve edited a few actual game pages here and there if I recall. Maybe I had a turbo-popup blocker back then or something… None of it makes logical sense, so I suppose it will just remain a mystery… Anyway, THANKS for clearing up all of the normal up for me. Your message did answer a few questions that I’d had in the back of my mind, but more than anything, I feel welcome here again. (Not being ‘mushy” here, but the welcome thing is important to me. Submachine is a huge part of…well, me.) Keep up the stellar work, buddy! SDRanger
