Name change[]
Hey! I would like to change the official title of Submachine 0 to Submachine: Ancient Adventure. The reason is that it seems like the correct title with the release of the HD version.
I would be responsible for fixing all redirects, and I would also be sure to make references to how it used to be called Submachine 0. Abbreviations would be changed to "SubAA" or simply "Ancient Adventure". I figured that since Mateusz doesn't call it Submachine 0 anymore (as evidenced by Submachine World and the HD title screen), it's time for a change. Let me know your thoughts! - This game has been called a lot of different things. Here's a list of all the one's I can think of, in roughly the order of what I think is most official to least official.
- "Submachine: Ancient Adventure" on the current submachine games page, [1] and on the title screen of the HD version.
- "Submachine Zero: ancient adventure" on the title screen of the online version. [2]
- "Submachine 0: Ancient Adventure" on the old games list page. [3]
- "Submachine Zero: the Ancient Adventure" in the original announcement post. [4]
- "sub_0" in the urls for #4 and the splash page. [5] and "submachine_0" in the url for #2 and in the filename for the HD version.
- "Sub0" on the old submachineworld.com page, along with "Submachine 0" commonly among fans.
- This is the first time I've heard it referred to as "SubAA".
- I'd say move this page to Submachine: Ancient Adventure, but continue to use "Sub0" or "Submachine 0" where it's appropriate to abbreviate the title, as those are pretty ingrained in fans' parlance.
- What do you mean he doesn't call it "Submachine 0" anymore? Has he explicitly stated so, or are you inferring this just from the HD title?

Well first off, I just made up SubAA, we don't have to use that. I just figured since 32 Chambers is referred to as Sub32 and FLF is referred to as SubFLF, this game might follow a similar vein. But by no means is that official of anything.
I was looking at reason #1 the most. It's in the title of the new version and it's on his homepage. When people come to play his games, he wants them to know that "Submachine: Ancient Adventure" is the new name. Of course, he hasn't changed the actual file itself, which is still the same as the original version, if I'm not mistaken.
While I bring this up, I wanted to ask: should we set in stone the idea that this Wiki should be updated to make the HDs the most important games, and reference the online games as supplemental material/past versions? That's my goal in editing the wiki; I wanted to see if you wanted the same. I also want to make a page for editing guidelines at some point, mixing your ideas "here" with some of mine. Let me know what you think! Error 3113 (talk) 13:17, July 3, 2015 (UTC)
- SET NOTHING IN STONE!
- I think we should treat the online and HD versions equally. The HD games may be more up to date and "canon", but the online ones, being free, are more accessible, and they've been around longer.
- Editing guidelines: post your ideas on that talk page so we can talk about them.

Extra room in Ancient Adventure HD[]
I'm sure people have already noticed this, but the HD version of Ancient Adventure features an additional room that was not present (to my knowledge) in the original release. For those who do not know, the room can be found by going to the far right from the very first screen. In the original game, you couldn't go any further right after getting to the screen with the lighter and the tongue; however in the HD version you can go one more screen to the right- a screen which shows that the sky in Ancient Adventure is actually a canvass, and the real backdrop is similar to the cave sections of subsequent Submachine titles.
Again, this has probably already been noted by many people; however it hasn't been mentioned on the Ancient Adventure page, and the map of the game hasn't been updated to include this new screen. Therefore I was thinking that these pages should be updated- since this new screen potentially holds numerous implications for Submachine lore.
